One of my all-time favorite comedy sketches– from Live On Tape. Starring Barbara Herel as the crazy cat lady, Jimmy Palumbo as “Pete” the deli guy, and Tony Mennuto as a white fluffy cat. (Note: It’s obvious in this video that the crazy cat lady & her kitty obviously had a lot of strife in their relationship, but don’t be sad. It turned out well! Barbara Herel and Tony Menutto (aka “white fluffy cat”) wound up getting married years later and they now have a beautiful baby girl!
(Live On Tape was a sketch comedy group popular in the mid 1990s in New York City. All of the material for their TV pilot was shot live in Studio 8-H, at 30 Rockefeller Center. The same studio where Saturday Night Live still shoots today. It was directed by John Fortenberry, produced by Juim Beiderman and Mike Stafford. The writers/cast were as follows: Mary Birdsong, Tom Bolster, Barbara Herel, Alec Holland, Tony Mennuto, Jimmy Palumbo and Amy Wilson. Steve Korren was head writer/consultant.)
Trivia: At one point, Artie Lange was also a member of the cast, as was Bryan Callen.
